Freedom – Family vs Green

The left like to think of themselves as “liberal” and in favour of freedom. Well as many on the right would point out, they are generally anything but liberal, being liberal on sexual matters and restrictive on pretty well everything else, that is part and parcel of being socialist.

I thought I’d compare the Green party website and the Family Party website and see how often the word “ban” appears, using a Google search. It’s been done before on the blogs, but I can’t find the original to quote.

The word “ban” appears 1,010 times on the Green Party website today, click here to check for yourself.

It appears 76 times on the Libertarianz site. (here)

It appears a total of THREE times on the Family Party website! (see here)

Furthermore, the three times the word “ban” appears are:

  • “Be open to debate on dropping the ban”
  • remove the ban”
  • “energy and resources to ban gang patches would be better spent on the war against drug dealing.”

In other words, each is talking AGAINST a ban!

Very unscientific of course, but the contrast is still incredible. So who is really promoting freedom, the conservatives or the so-called liberals?

Colmar Brunton poll September 08

The Colmar Brunton poll is now out, and things continue to look up for The Family Party. The percentages have jumped around a bit again as they always do for the minor parties, due to the error at these low values, but the latest result is:

  • NZ First                    2.6%
  • United Future           0.7%
  • Act NZ                     0.6%
  • The Family Party  0.3%
  • Christian Heritage    0.2%
  • Libertarianz              0.2%
  • Kiwi Party                  0.1%
  • Progressives            0.1%

The Family Party is sitting on 0.3%, as in July and August. This is not very high yet, we need to push our publicity over the next few weeks, but is steady. We are still the best-supported party outside parliament and are polling higher than two parties with current seats. Family + CH + Destiny (which I have been using to guage the conservative voters that are interested in a Christian party) is once again steady on 0.5%, as it has been for 4 months.

Kiwi is down on 0.1%, once again showing they haven’t a hope this election and conservative voters need to get behind the one party with a chance of actually making a difference – The Family Party. NZ First would be gone if they can’t take a seat, which would make our votes count a bit more. Libertarianz are doing well.

Ban it

The runaway success of The Family Party video The Gamble, the most-viewed NZ political video on Youtube, has shown how a party outside parliament can better the big parties on the internet. The Family Party has three videos now, which can be found here and are well worth watching.

Now another minor party is jumping into this medium – Libertarianz. I wouldn’t normally be promoting a video produced by an opposing party, especially ultra-liberals, my job is to promote the Family Party. But this video is aimed primarily at exposing the communist ideologies behind the Green party, and as such it is well worth watching, especially for anyone who was considering voting Green. Very amusing too!

Now having seen why not to vote Green, here is our new video The Choice, which will hopefully help you decide who to actually vote for:
